namak pare recipe | namak para recipe | spicy diamond cuts recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. the name for this recipe is derived from the word namak which is literally means salt and is the main seasoning ingredient for this recipe. in addition it also contains other seasoning ingredients like ajwain, cumin and pepper which gives it a unique taste and flavour.
the recipe for namak para is very similar to shankar pali but still maintains subtle differences. the main difference is the usage of flour between these 2 recipes. traditionally shankar pali recipe uses, maida or plain flour where as in namak pare atta or wheat flour is used. having said that, namak para can also be prepared with maida but from a taste and health point of view atta flour is much better option. further shankar pali is a sweet snack with mild sweetness to it. whereas namak pare is savoury snack with salt and spice combination.
the recipe for namak pare hardly takes about 10-15 minutes to prepare, yet some tips and recommendations while preparing it. firstly, knead the dough tight like poori dough else namakpare will absorb oil. also, fry on low flame till it turns crispy and cooked completely from inside. lastly, use maida if you do not prefer to use wheat flour or add half-half wheat flour and maida to make it more delicious.
